A batch of ten stools that can also be used as side tables are currently on display in the Yorkshire Artspace Gallery at Persistence Works, Sheffield. I have made these in a range of timbers including Walnut, Cherry, Elm, Oak and Ash at £156 each:

Writing Desk and Chair in Walnut (with Sycamore details)

The proto-type work chair has at last become a reality and here is combined with a work desk. I need to edit photos of this before adding them to my website. The inlay is Sycamore, the upholstered seat is red leather, the drawer pulls are brushed aluminium, and there is a secret storage box hidden behind each of the three drawers.

Bookcase

This large Bookcase in Vandyke Crystal stained Oak is 2.5m wide x 2.5m high. The shelves are adjustable and it breaks down for transportation. It has been made for an old farmhouse to match with oak beams and antique furnishings.

Work Chair

I have developed a scale model into a proto-type chair and this has been tested out by the clients. It needs further refinement before going into production as part of a commission to make a Writing Desk with a matching Chair in Elm and Sycamore.

Open Up Sheffield 2011

I will be taking part in Open Up Sheffield 2011 over the early May Bank Holiday week-end and the week-end after that.

Open Studios 2010

We opened up to the public on Friday 19 November and Saturday 20 November. There were a good number of visitors and we sold some chopping boards, but alas no major pieces of furniture. Amongst the items on display was another one-off Wall-Hanging Cabinet in Oak by Anna.

Two-fold Screen & Wall-hanging Cupboard

I have recently completed construction of two items designed by my partner Anna Childs:

The wall-hanging unit is 1200mm x 150mm x 150mm and has a sliding front panel in pippy oak.

The two-fold screen is tall and wide enough to block a hallway entry. It features walnut offcuts, recycled ebony, purpleheart offcuts and recycled mahogany inserts in the oak frames and panels

Bedroom Furniture in Walnut

Over November and December I made matching bedroom furniture in walnut: a long low two drawer cabinet, a tall five drawer cabinet and a pair of bedside cabinets (each with a drawer and a shelf). Delivery was delayed until well after the Christmas/New Year holiday period, because of the snow and ice.

Since then I have been doing some shelving/storage units while trying to set up a few jobs for the coming year. I have sketched out a dining chair design and hope to have prototyped this by making a full scale model over the next few weeks.

This month I have made a Modular Shelving Unit in Maple; a Low Table in Oak, Walnut and Purpleheart; and I have started work on a pair of Bookcases in Oak.

During March, April and May I have made a couple of Dining Tables. Pictures of these have been posted on my website.

Also on my website are a couple of images of a new range of stools and low tables - I am calling these "Tripos". They are three-legged stools and tables in different sizes in oak. The cross-rails are set in a unique pattern using wedged through mortise and tenons to join the three rails in the form of an equilateral triangle.

Character Oak Reception Desk & Conference Tables

Over the past few months I have made and delivered 3 tables (designed to be set together or moved around as needed) and a reception desk to a College in Sheffield.
